Meet Otto

Meet Otto, a happy, friendly and playful nine-month-old Collie who is full of puppy energy. Otto came into rescue needing a little extra care and good nutrition to help him gain weight and build up his strength. Now that he is feeling so much better, his playful and silly personality is starting to come through. He is a social boy who eagerly greets everyone he meets, loves being brushed, and enjoys cozying up on dog beds and soft blankets.
When it comes to making friends, Otto is an absolute rockstar! He adores other dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves nothing more than running and playing with canine buddies. He has also been reported to do well around smaller animals like cats and bunnies. While Otto hasn't interacted with children in his foster home, his friendly and easygoing nature suggests he might do well with older kids. While he can be a little cautious when encountering new things, his cheerful curiosity quickly takes over.

Otto is an energetic, athletic pup who thrives on activity. He will need an active home with a securely fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart's content. And because he has already proven he can jump a 4 ft fence, a sturdy, 5 ft fence or higher is a must for his safety. Indoors, he is wonderfully housebroken, having only had a single accident when he had an upset stomach. Because he is still a young dog, he does need to be safely confined when left alone to keep him out of mischief.

As a typical young pup with limited prior training, Otto is looking for an adopter who is excited to help him continue learning. He already knows his name, "sit," and "down," and he is currently working on "wait." He will need ongoing, patient guidance with leash walking, learning polite door etiquette (so he doesn't try to dart out), and practicing calm greetings with all four paws on the floor. He is also working through crate training; while he tolerates the crate reluctantly and has shown progress, he still vocalizes and prefers slow, positive conditioning.

With an active, loving family to guide him—and ideally another pup to share in the fun—Otto is ready to fill his forever home with endless joy, laughter, and affection. Could you be the one?
